St. George's welcomes enquiries from couples wishing to be married in church, whether they are members of our church or not. We would encourage couples to come along to the Sunday service to see the church at worship. The next step is to contact our Minister; if possible, at least a year in advance. It is important to do this before you book your reception venue to ensure that the date is available. We would like you to attend church regularly while your plans progress. A growing number of couples have built such a good relationship with our church and congregation that they have continued to attend after their marriage.

If you just want to see what our church is like, you are welcome to come along to morning service at 11.00am on Sundays - for more information about our services over the coming months please click here. United Reformed Churches do not have geographical parish boundaries so you do not have to live within the village of Thornton Hough in order to be married at St. George's. The only constraint, apart from the fact that any marriage at the church is at the discretion of the Minister, is that at least one of the couple must be resident within the 'Wirral Registration District' which extends over a large part of the Wirral peninsula, or else be a regular worshipper at the church.

Please note we are not able to conduct weddings on Sundays.

Once your wedding has been arranged with the Minister, our wedding co-ordinators can provide ongoing help and advice about your arrangements such as the legal requirements, music, readings and so on.  We can also print  your orders of service and other stationery if you wish, or provide a template for you to print your own. We will liaise with your florist about decorating the church or, if you prefer, we offer a selection of silk flowers, which have proved very popular.
